About this course
Students completing this course will gain the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.
This unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide CPR in various situations, including community and workplace settings.
Units of competency
Upon completion of this course, the following unit(s) will be issued by ABC Licence Training Pty LTD – RTO 3399
- HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
Course delivery
This course is offered as a face-to-face course. Pre-course learning is required.
Course duration
Fully Face-to-Face: Minimum 2.5 hours total
Pre-requisites
Learners will require English Language, Literacy, numeracy and Digital (LLND) skills.
There is no formal prerequisite units required for entry into this course.
Physical requirements (where applicable)
The ability to kneel on the floor to perform CPR on an adult manikin for at least 2 minutes.
Assessment requirements
Assessment activities will include a knowledge test and a practical assessment for CPR techniques. Students will also complete scenarios in a simulated environment.
Course renewal requirements
The statement of attainment is valid for 12 months and should be updated annually.
