About this course
Students completing this course will gain the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.
This unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
Units of competency
Upon completion of this course, the following unit(s) will be issued by ABC Licence Training Pty LTD – RTO 3399
- HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- HLTAID010 – Provide basic emergency life support
- HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid
Course delivery
This course is offered as a face-to-face course. Pre-course learning is required.
Course duration
Up to 2 hours pre course learning + 4 hours completed face to face
Pre-requisites
Learners will require English Language, Literacy, numeracy and Digital (LLND) skills.
There are no formal prerequisite units required for entry into this course.
Assessment requirements
Assessment activities will include a knowledge test and practical assessments including CPR and First Aid techniques. Students will also complete scenarios in a simulated environment.
Course renewal requirements
The statement of attainment is valid for 3 years*. *Please note that the CPR component of the training is valid for 12 months and should be updated annually.
Training and assessment is delivered on behalf of ABC First Aid RTO 3399. Certificate issuance is subject to successful completion of all course requirements.
